Q.
What
is Bathroom Resurfacing?
A.
Also known as bathtub
reglazing, bathtub
refinishing, tile reglazing, tile refinishing, fiberglass reglazing, synthetic porcelain and so on,
resurfacing is a little known money-saving technique combining the processes of preparing, repairing,
restoring and resurfacing fixtures such as
bathtubs,
shower stalls,
wall tiles and
sinks in-situ, to produce a beautiful glossy and durable finish for years to come - for a fraction of the
cost and time involved with traditional remedies. Fixtures can either be spot repaired with color matching or you can choose to have the whole fixture be given a completely new glossy coating. The technique can also be extended to
clawfoot tubs,
kitchen sinks, back splash
tiles,
countertops and
cabinets. We also offer bathtub
conversions to safely eliminate the effort of getting in and out of a home tub for you or your loved one. Many older fixtures contain
lead which can result in lead poisoning for you and your loved ones. Resurfacing and reglazing actually eliminates lead seepage from tubs and sinks by sealing in and encapsulating the old and worn surface. By resurfacing, 20+ years can be added onto the life of some fixtures with proper
care and maintenance.
There are unlimited
colors and many finishes available for
those choosing to redecorate their bathroom or kitchen by resurfacing their fixtures. The
most common request is typically for
bathtubs,
shower stalls,
wall tiles and
sinks to be given a glossy white finish due to its timeless neutrality for bathroom
decorating and its general low maintenance. Any fixtures with holes, cracks or chips
are first repaired, with tiles being regrouted before the etching process
begins. The end result on the wall tile is a durable, uniform water-tight glaze covering
both tile
and grouting,
making it both more hygienic and easier to clean. The bonding agent used in our coatings are the same as that used by the aerospace industry. The end result is always a high bond, watertight coating that is durable enough to stand many more years of use.
The same resurfacing technique can be applied to
countertops,
tiles and back splashes,
or you can choose to have your old formica laminate or dated marble countertops resurfaced to any
color or fleck pattern of your choice. Select a new
edging to be applied to your
gleaming countertops and the end result resembles the more expensive, custom made countertops from a factory! That is, without all the mess of a factory new countertop with demolition, removal and installation. A new countertop and resurfaced
cabinets change the entire look of a kitchen, not to mention increases the value of your home.

All work is
performed by knowledgeable, certified and experienced resurfacing technicians with specialized industrial equipment and
imported products exclusive only to licensed professionals. All materials
and products used are the newest eco-friendly
solutions for VOC compliant coatings. We are so confident in our work and products that Dennie's Resurfacing stands by an extensive written warranty for both residential and commercial properties.
"Daniel was great! He came when he was
supposed to, and did a very good job, and conducted himself in a very
professional manner.
When he finished, he gave me a warranty and general care sheet. I would
not hesitate to give his name out to anyone."
